Joel's Laboratory

About

Hi everyone, if you've gotten to this site you probably know me or know someone else that does. For those of you that don't, I'm an electrical engineer working at Western Digital where I design software and hardware for manufacturing of hard drives. I enjoy programming and messing around with various tools in my free time which is how this site came into existence. Above all this is a place of experimentation. There isn't much here currently but more content of things I build and experiment with will slowly trickle in.

Nexus

1/26/2012

The nexus theme takes after the Google Android Nexus background. It is always active and makes for a nice technical background to a web page. Additionally you can add quite a bit more streamers without slowdown.

Night and Day

1/15/2011

This was my first experiment making a dynamic background for a web page. Not completely practical in terms of functionality but it makes a pretty cool transition between night and day.

Sweet Canvas

A canvas using tools that allow you to draw in various ways. I built this canvas using various drawing algorithms I found across the Internet and put them together in a canvas. Hope you enjoy it!

Treppid

A canvas with a global chat room. A little experiment in building a chat room that didn't require a backend service. It's straight forward, one of my first web experiments!
